This slideshow displays a sequence of photographs of an old timber barn (where the roof had collapsed)
The building had to be completely stripped of all existing timbers and thatch. A new roof was constructed and this was then completely re-thatched using combed wheat. The timber barn project was undertaken at the Weald and Downland Museum to show some of the old traditions in a modern setting.
